मैं सर्वप्रथम सीमांचल के प्रतिष्ठित महाविद्यालय पूर्णियाँ कॉलेज पूर्णियाँ के गौरवशाली इतिहास को नमन करती हूँ । मैं नमन करती हूँ उन दूर दृष्टा साहित्यकारों एवं बुद्धिजीवियों को जिन्होंने आने वाली पीढ़ियों के अध्ययन अध्यापन और बौद्धिक विकास को लेकर एक सुन्दर सपना देखा ।जिसने आगे चलकर 1948 ईसवी में पूर्णियाँ कॉलेज पूर्णियाँ के रूप में आकार लिया ।

सीमांचल की धरती को ख्याति प्रदान करने वाले मैला आँचल के लेखक फणीश्वर नाथ रेणु को प्रणाम करती हूँ । साथ ही राष्ट्रकवि दिनकर को नमन करती हूँ।जिन्होंने महाविद्यालय के मुख्य भवन में रश्मिरथी की रचना की । साहित्यकारों की पुण्यभूमि पूर्णियाँ शहर के आँगन में स्थित अपनी बौद्धिक खुशबू बिखेरता पूर्णियाँ कॉलेज पूर्णियाँ उस कल्प वृक्ष के समान है, जिसकी छाँव में बैठ कर अध्ययन अध्यापन करने से विद्यार्थी साधक को बौद्धिक समृद्धि प्राप्त होती है ।

हमारा मानना है कि प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी अपने विशिष्ट गुणों के कारण अलग है और उसके अंदर छुपी प्रतिभा को पहचान कर उसे विकसित करने एवं समाजोपयोगी बनाने हेतु अवसर प्रदान करना हमारा दायित्व है ।

मनुष्य की जीवन यात्रा में शिक्षा एक मशाल की तरह, भवसागर में प्रकाश स्तंभ की तरह है जो हमें सही-ग़लत, उचित-अनुचित, धर्म-अधर्म, नैतिक-अनैतिक का अंतर करने हेतु विवेक दृष्टि प्रदान करती है । जिससे छात्र अपने जीवन में आने वाली समस्याओं चुनौतियों का सामना करने एवं हल निकालने में सक्षम हो सके । आगे आने वाली पीढ़ियों का मार्गदर्शन भी कर सकें। पथ प्रदर्शक बन सकें ।

वर्तमान में महाविद्यालय अपने स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर कला संकाय, वाणिज्य संकाय एवं विज्ञान संकाय के साथ साथ बीबीए, बीसीए, प्राक्, इग्नु, एनएसएस, एनसीसी आदि सुविधाओं के साथ आप सभी विद्यार्थियों की पावन कर्मस्थली है । महाविद्यालय में कई बड़े क्रीडांगन आपके खेलकूद की रुचि और योग्यता को अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए इंतजार कर रहे हैं । आपके शैक्षणिक वातावरण एवं अवसर निर्माण हेतु हम अहर्निश प्रयासरत हैं और आगे भी रहेंगे ।

पुनः पूर्व प्रधानाचार्यों, विद्वान शिक्षकों, समाजसेवी साथियों, राजनैतिक प्रशासनिक सहयोगियों का आभार प्रकट करती हूँ जिन्होंने अपने भगीरथ प्रयास से पूर्णियाँ कॉलेज पूर्णियाँ का बीजारोपण, संरक्षण और संवर्धन किया ।

It is a profound honor to be part of the distinguished legacy of Purnea College - a pillar of academic excellence that has shaped the intellectual landscape for over seven decades. Since its founding in 1948, this institution has served as a cornerstone of higher education and a transformative force for the Seemanchal region.

I pay homage to Phanishwar Nath Renu, the immortal author of Maila Anchal, who gave eternal glory to the soil of Seemanchal. I also pay tribute to Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, who, within the walls of this college’s main building, composed his celebrated epic Rashmirathi. 

Our educational philosophy is founded on the belief that every student is an individual with a unique set of talents. We see it as our primary responsibility to provide a nurturing environment where these inherent abilities can be discovered, cultivated, and transformed into powerful strengths. Ultimately, our goal is to foster not only intellectual advancement but also personal growth, empowering our students to contribute meaningfully to society while achieving their own full potential.

With undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science, along with professional programs such as BBA and BCA, and opportunities through PRAC, IGNOU, NSS, NCC, and more, the college strives to offer holistic development. We are dedicated to nurturing every aspect of our students potential, whether it relates to developing athletic skills on our spacious playgrounds or challenging their intellect in an academic culture that relentlessly pursues excellence.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the former Principals, distinguished teachers, social reformers, and the administrative and political leaders, whose tireless efforts sowed the seeds and nurtured the growth of this great institution. It is because of their dedication that Purnea College stands today as a proud beacon of learning, culture, and progress.
